Who Can Participate: This recreational league is open to students in grades 3-12. Players are placed in the league that matches their grade level. Any players who are on Travel or School teams will not be able to participate in the Community Ed. League. Parents can register and will receive 90% refunds if their children later make these more competitive teams. All participants will have an equal opportunity to play and will be placed on teams to achieve balanced competition. Once teams are formed, coaches will contact players.
Fees: The fee to participate in the league is $179. Unfortunately, we do not have scholarships available. You can set up a payment plan by calling our office at 978-266-2525.

Important Dates: Opening clinics will be included on the registration page for each league. Practice for most leagues will begin on Monday, December 11. Scrimmage games and/or skills clinics will be played on December 9 & 16. League games will be played from Saturday, January 6 through Saturday, March 16. There will be no games played on February 24, the second weekend of February vacation.

Mandatory League Clinics:  All participants are required to attend the opening clinics in November and December (schedules are posted on registration pages) at the times and locations listed. The clinics allow the coaches and directors to evaluate the ability of players as all participants in our league have an equal opportunity to play and are placed on teams to achieve balanced competition. This is difficult at best if coaches and directors don’t have the opportunity to evaluate your child. It is important that you make time to attend the clinics.

Practice Schedules & Team Drafts:
All teams will practice one night per week. The weeknight practices are at a fixed time/day. Parents will be asked to submit a form with 3 practice nights (M-F) that work for their children. Teams will be drafted according to ability and availability in order to achieve the most balanced teams possible. It is difficult at best and if parents do not provide us options, we may not be able to accommodate your child. Parents will be able to update their child's availability as late as their clinic check-in. Once the clinic has happened coaches will draft teams. Requesting a different practice night after teams have been drafted would create a "player trade" situation. This causes disruption for coaches and disappointment for a player who was happy with their placement when they are suddenly traded. We do not entertain trades after the season has begun and we reserve the right to refuse a player trade after teams have been formed.

Game Schedule: All teams play 1 game each Saturday. Games are scheduled on a rotating basis in the hours published for each league, i.e. if your league is scheduled for 8-11 on Saturday morning, you may have a game at 8:00, 9:00, or 10:00.

Coaches & League Directors: In order for the league to run smoothly, volunteers are needed to serve as league directors and team coaches. The final selection of coaches will be at the discretion of the league director. League Directors’ children play at no cost. If you are interested in serving as a league director or coach please fill out the coaching form or contact Luanne Flood.

Student Coaches:  High School students in grades 10-12 are eligible to coach one team with parent supervision. Anyone interested should fill out the student coaching form. No phone calls or walk-ins, please. Student coaches will be selected by league directors. Student coaches may not have a partner who is a high school or club teammate for any sport playing during our basketball season. We have found this to be a problem when both students have to miss due to their sports practice or game.

Registration Process: Registration links are included at the top of this page. The cost of the basketball program is $179 per student. Unfortunately, we do not offer scholarships for this program. You may set up a payment plan by calling our office at 978-266-2525. Once a league is full, players will be placed on a waitlist in the order in which their registration is received.

Refund Policy: To receive a 90% refund, players must withdraw from the league before their league’s clinic date. Community Ed. will not provide refunds after these dates unless a player makes a Travel or School team. Students making school teams will be given a 90% refund. No refunds will be issued after the league clinic date.
