Extended Day 2020 Program

Start and End Times:

Our program will start at 7:30 am and will end at 3:45 pm.

It is important that you drop off right at 7:30 am because we are required to do a daily health screening.  We will not take children in our program if they are dropped off after 7:40 am.

Kindergarten:

AM Kindergarten Students: Children attend morning Kindergarten.  At 11:30 am one of our staff members will pick students up from their classrooms and we will conduct the daily child health screening. Students will be in our program until 3:45 pm. Parent/guardian is responsible for pickup, AMK students can not ride the bus home.  Please note: AMK students cannot come before school from 7:30-8:50 am; they may only attend Extended Day at 11:30 am.

PM Kindergarten Students: Parents/guardians drop off children between 7:30 and 7:40 AM.  We will do the daily health screening at that time.  At 12:40 PM children will be walked to their classrooms by our staff.

Both AM and PM Kindergarten students will eat lunch at our program.

Drop off and Pick Up:

Parents/guardians are responsible for drop off and pick up from our program.

Parents will not be allowed in the building-- all pick ups and drop offs will be done outside.

Photo ID is required for all persons picking up children from Ext Day 2020.  This includes parents who are known to the staff.  No exceptions will be made.  If there is anyone who legally is not allowed to pick up, please provide legal documents to Kate Murray.

Program Requirements:

Children are expected to come with whatever they need for to work on their remote learning activities while they are in our program.

Your children are expected to bring the following with them when they come to our program:

  • Remote learning device (school-issued Chromebook, laptop, etc.)
  • Headphones (with microphone preferred)
  • Easy access to all required log-ins/passwords
  • Appropriate school supplies
  • A mask (masks are required for both children and adults)
  • Lunch + two snacks + water bottle
Please review the Health & Safety Guidelines here.

Tuition:

Tuition is based on a daily rate of $60.00, per child, per day, $35 per day for kindergarten afternoons/mornings.  You will be invoiced at the end of each month for the number of days your child/children are enrolled.   All monthly invoices are due by the 15th of the next month.  For example, tuition for the month of September will be invoiced on September 30th and payment will be due by October 15th.  There will be a $10.00 late fee charged for late tuition payments.

If a particular school building or the Acton-Boxborough Regional School District goes fully remote and our program is closed, you will not be charged for any days we could not provide childcare. If or when we go back to the hybrid model and you still need child care, we will resume your child's schedule.

If the School District pivots to go fully remote, then the Ext Day 2020 program will close and you will no longer be charged.

Payment:

Payment can be made by cash or check, dropped off at the Community Education office.  Checks should be made out to A-B Community Education and can also be mailed to our office at 15 Charter Road, Acton, MA, 01720.  There will be a $25.00 charge for returned checks from the bank.  You will receive an emailed receipt if you are paying with cash or check.

If you would like to pay online using your bank routing information, please log on here:

https://unipaygold.unibank.com/Default.aspx?customerid=573  (live link).  You will be emailed confirmation (from Unipay) after each online payment and this will serve as your monthly receipt.

Flexible spending accounts/receipts:

Extended Day prepares and emails statements to all families twice a year, at the beginning of January (covering payments made August through December) and in June (covering payments made January through June). These statements are signed and include our Tax ID number and may be used for flexible spending claims. We do not sign additional forms.

Cancellation:

We require 2 weeks notice for cancellation for any reason, in writing, via email to Kate Murray at [email protected]

Absences

It is expected that you will not send your child/ren to Extended Day 2020 if they are sick, if they have been exposed to someone with or someone suspected of having COVID-19, or if they have been asked to quarantine.

You will be charged for your scheduled day if your child is absent. However, in the event your child has to quarantine, you will not be charged for the first 2 days your child is absent from the program.

No tuition refunds are given for absences.  It is your responsibility to call the Extended Day program where your child attends on the morning of the absence.
